What is the Best/Fastest way to make money on Guild Wars?
I was just wondering what was the best/fastest way to make money on Guild Wars. I've been trying various farms for hours and can't seem to find one that is timeworthy. What kind of farms should i try? Solo? Team?

I just help guild members out with quests and the money arrives
I don't think there is a best way anymore as solo UW costs way more than you make (me and a guildy cleared the UW and got zero ecto ) When i go skill capping i aways kill groups on the way and it (doesn't pay the full 1k) but helps for the next sig cap Basically my way of making gold is to farm titles and help guildys |

look in the farming forum ..... its slow steady cash...if you want to get rich quick learn to power trade and get a list of clients that buy highend items.

The above posters seem to have neglected the loot-scaling that's been implemented after boring mode -- I mean hard mode.
I suggest picking out a boss that has an expensive green and and farming him until you go numb from carpal tunnel syndrome. Last edited by Chris616263; Jun 20, 2007 at 01:20 PM // 13:20.. |

The easiest way to earn money...
The easiest way to earn money is to become a runner, the 5 - 9 city tour of NF from Sunspear Sanctuary to Sebelkeh with all stops in between. Run takes 13 -20 minutes based on spawn. You spam for people for 10 minutes or so (get 2 -7), charge 5k each. 50k an hour is very realistic. The most popular build is D/(W, R, A), R/(D, W, A), A/(D, R), or W/(D, R)
The desert run in Prophecies is good also, 500 gold per stop. The Droknars run is still getting 4 -5k a run. NF also has the Consulate Dock ferry 100 - 500 gold for a few seconds of work. |

Play the game by completing quests and missions.
Make a new character. Play the game. Make a new character. Lather, rinse, repeat. Seriously, I started with Prophecies and didn't see a K until post-searing at Piken Square. Certainly, this was because I was noobtastic and didn't really understand what to spend on and what to keep. Then I took groups of henchies (usually went one less than the max), and found guildies to help with missions. The addition of Factions did some nice boosting to my bank. Every quest is 200 gold or so, right? Do quests. Don't update armor, just take hench. Quest rewards will be enough. Buy minimally. Wait a while before buying uber-leet weapons. Just let it come. Choice #2: Start a prophecies character in pre-searing: monk, ele, or warrior. Do every quest. Explore every nook. Talk to every NPC. Most important: Kill every critter, many times. Sell everything except dyes. DO NOT leave pre until you have several white and black dyes. Black dye = 7k or so. Do not sell black dye in pre. Good luck. |

On the note of getting lots of money from quests in factions and NF, The repeatable quest associated with FFFing, mainly on the kurzick side, can gives you 150 gold a run, ending up with 3.75 k at 10k faction, which only takes around 35-45 minutes with a good group. On top of that, the 10k faction can buy you some nice skills from the latest update as well as some amber which you can sell for even more money.
The downfall of this method is that it is fairly repetative and time comsuming, i tried for long enough to get 540k in kurzick faction before i got completely bored out of my mind. It also requires a-lot of knowledge and practice before you can get the runs down right every time at a reasonable speed. Other wise i suggest doing some hard mode vanquishing, its not too productive but all the drops add up, plus you get some nice gold items on the way... |

get an E/A or A/E and farm bosses in hard mode, give the greens to your heroes and sell the elite tomes
honestly though i've found i got plenty of money just playing the game... 55 monking in hard mode works also got lots of money by selling golds, upgrades and tomes i got while doing the SS/LB points farm with a group of 6. there's plenty of ways, you just have to look around a bit. |

Quick money?
Sell your birthday gifts. I don't collect them, don't care for them, so when I get one, it's just instant cash. Collected 2 pigs for new years before the event started. A friend of mine got 1. I sold both of mine for 30k each, told him to sell his. He wanted to keep one because how rare they were....until the event. Now they are worthless. I still have 5 that no one wants, and he has 7+. It's all about priority. What do you want more? A minipet or a better weapon. To dye all of your armor black? Or to play the game and be comfortable with having a little spending cash. When you find that max weapon mod...sell it. Live with -1 the max and still be effective (and way cheaper!). |

Run People.
Ascalon City to Yaks/Borlis = 700g to 1k (About 20 minutes) Ascalon to Beacons = 2k (1 Hour) Beacons to Droks = 2K/3K Desert Run = 1.5K/2K Good combinations for runners Mo/R (I have this - it works despite what people say) W/R (Three/Four Run spells at your disposal) W/Mo or D/Mo (Perfect Combo) Good luck |

running other people is probably the fastest way to gain money right now if you don't have any to start with.
farming high end areas can earn you money but its not steady and depends a lot on luck. if you have a lot of money to start with, power trading is the way to go. |

He's asking for the best/fastest way to make money and some of you are replying with, "Play the game". I don't think that's the answer he is looking for nor is it correct in reference to his question.
Like others have said running and power trading is your best bet at making money in the shortest amount of time. If you absolutely must farm then perhaps do DoA or UW (ecto has dropped in price as of late though). |

the richest players in the game are (or were) all powertraders first and foremost.

What do you mean by powertraders? Whenever I try to buy and resell ( or just sell old stuff ) I end up losing a lot of money. ( probally because not knowing prices )

I still don't understand why it's so important to get gold. GW gold is not real money, and you collect money buy just playing through the game like others have said. And once you acquire tens of thousands of gold, what is the real benefit of being rich in a virtual game? I'm still not grasping the value of anything in the Guild Wars world. There is nothing tangible that I can physically have from this game other than the CD and the Instructions Booklet. Anything that happens in-game are things that I can never 'own' or actually 'possess'. Collecting things and playing with them in the virtual world is a fun pass time, however I just don't grasp the 'craze' of trying to build tons of virtual money in a virtual game. It's not real money that I can spend on bills or needs. Everybody in various threads are heard ranting and complaining about the "costs" and "depreciation" and the "bargains" in this game. Maybe it's my outlook, but I really don't see how saving this virtual 'gold' has any true benefit on my gaming experience. Can somebody explain why being rich in a video game is important?
(for the record: in FFVII, I spent over 6 months trying to raise Master Materia. After growing out of that stage, I feel there is no benefit in doing that kind of stuff ever again.) |

Basically you look for the largest profit in the shortest amount of time but the first step is finding out priced. Find a friend who is already proficient at it and can give price checks whenever you need them and sit in town and see what the items are actually selling for. You won't make money at first. When you're able to see what's a good deal and what isn't...when you know the prices to everything, you'll start making huge profit. It's faster than any farming and once you build up a nice cash sum, you can start going for the REALLY high end items/miniatures/etc. All it takes is some patience and knowledge of the market. |
